Job Description
Self Help Africa is seeking a detail oriented and experienced Finance & Administrative Officer to support day to day financial and administrative operations in Kano State, Nigeria. The role requires a hands on professional who will ensure accurate financial record-keeping, effective financial control systems, and full compliance with Self Help Africa (SHA) policies as well as donor regulations, while supporting smooth project and office operations.
Responsibilities
- Process payments and ensure proper documentation in line with approved procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
- Manage cash operations, including cashbooks and reconciliations.
- Support assets management and general administrative functions.
- Provide finance and administrative support to project implementation and office operations.
- Ensure compliance with Self Help Africa policies and donor financial regulations.
- Maintain accurate financial reports and supporting documentation.
- Support community feedback and response mechanisms where required.
- Demonstrate strong commitment to safeguarding, protection, and accountability standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, or Finance.
- Recognized professional accounting certification (ACA or ACAA).
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in project finance within an international or non-governmental organisation.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting, donor reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Experience using computerized accounting systems.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Strong commitment to Self Help Africa’s mission, values, safeguarding, and protection principles.
