Medecins Sans Frontieres(MSF) is seeking a diligent and detail oriented Finance Assistant to support its financial operations in Abuja. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with MSF policies, donor regulations, and local laws. This role is essential to the smooth functioning of MSF’s mission by providing reliable financial and administrative support, processing payments, managing documentation, and contributing to timely financial reporting. The Finance Assistant will work closely with the Finance Coordinator to uphold transparency, accountability, and strong financial controls across all MSF activities.

Responsibilities
• Execute daily administrative and finance-related tasks under the supervision of the Finance Coordinator/ACMA
• Implement procedures for cash handling, bank transfers, and treasury management
• Assist in preparing monthly treasury forecasts and financial planning
• Process supplier payments and ensure proper documentation for each transaction
• Maintain accurate records of financial documents, invoices, vouchers, statutory payments, and receipts
• Ensure timely processing of tax deductions, pension contributions, and other statutory obligations
• Monitor rental contract validity and notify supervisors ahead of expiration
• Support cost-control activities and the preparation of financial statements
• Enter financial data into accounting software with accuracy and consistency
• Assist in preparing monthly Finance SITREP and internal financial reports
• Maintain confidentiality of all financial and administrative documentation
• Carry out additional administrative, accounting, or support tasks as assigned

Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Moderate understanding of Nigerian tax laws and statutory deductions
• Fluency in English and Hausa (written and spoken)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and data accuracy
• Ability to work well in a team and under pressure
• Demonstrated commitment, flexibility, and strong stress management skills
