Job Description

Premiere Urgence Internationale (PUI) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Protection Officer to support the implementation and integration of protection principles across its humanitarian programmes in Bama LGA, Borno State. The role focuses on protection mainstreaming, community outreach, case management, and capacity building, ensuring that protection standards, donor requirements, and PUI policies are fully upheld in all project activities.

Responsibilities

• Integrate protection principles across all PUI programme activities.
• Implement and monitor protection and community outreach interventions.
• Conduct trainings on protection mainstreaming, child protection (CP), gender-based violence (GBV), and confidentiality.
• Identify, refer, and follow up on individual protection cases in line with standard procedures.
• Supervise Community Outreach Workers and coordinate field based activities.
• Support data collection, documentation, and reporting on protection activities.
• Engage communities to promote awareness of protection issues and available services.
• Ensure full compliance with donor regulations, humanitarian standards, and PUI internal policies.

Requirements

• Relevant academic qualification in social sciences or a related field.
• 2–4 years’ professional experience in protection programming and community outreach.
• Proven experience in humanitarian or NGO settings.
• Strong understanding of protection principles and case management.
• Ability to conduct trainings and supervise field teams.
• Good reporting, communication, and coordination skills.
