Job Description

Cooperazione Internazionale (COOPI) is seeking an experienced Entrepreneurship Ecosystem and MSME Development Expert to lead and implement capacity-building and enterprise development initiatives in Gashua, Yobe State. The role focuses on strengthening local entrepreneurship ecosystems, supporting MSME growth and scalability, and driving inclusive economic development through value chain interventions, market access, and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead capacity building programmes for entrepreneurs and MSMEs.
• Develop and implement MSME growth and scalability strategies.
• Strengthen local entrepreneurship ecosystems and promote innovation.
• Design viable business models and support access to markets and finance.
• Conduct value chain analysis, mapping, and upgrading strategies.
• Identify constraints and propose targeted interventions across value chains.
• Support agribusiness development, enterprise clusters, and investment promotion.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders and partners.
• Ensure programme implementation complies with organizational and donor standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Development Studies, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in entrepreneurship or MSME development.
• Strong expertise in business development, financial inclusion, and market linkages.
• Good understanding of Yobe State’s entrepreneurial landscape.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Hausa and/or Kanuri is an added advantage.
