Job Description

International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is seeking a Research Supervisor to support agricultural research, watershed management initiatives, farmer training, and technology adoption activities across project communities. The role involves stakeholder collaboration, community mobilization, reporting, and providing technical support to smallholder farmers and extension workers.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support partnerships and stakeholder engagement for improved watershed and agricultural practices
• Train farmers and extension workers on crop production, water efficient technologies, and post-harvest management
• Facilitate adoption of improved agricultural technologies through demonstrations and field evaluations
• Coordinate community mobilization and social engagement activities
• Document activities and prepare high quality technical and progress reports
• Provide technical support across project tasks and perform other assigned duties

REQUIREMENTS
• HND/BSc in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, or related field
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in research, extension, or agricultural development
• Strong knowledge of crop production, farmer training, community engagement, and watershed management
• Experience working with research institutions, NGOs, farmer groups, and multi stakeholder platforms
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
• Excellent communication skills; fluency in English and Hausa
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
