Job Description

Kolomoni Microfinance Institution is seeking a detail oriented and experienced Reconciliation Officer to support the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions across its operations. This role is critical in ensuring timely reconciliation, safeguarding customer funds, and maintaining strong financial controls in line with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile daily payments and transactions within CBN regulatory timelines
• Investigate, resolve, and appropriately treat transaction discrepancies and reversals
• Perform bank and settlement reconciliations to prevent financial exposure
• Conduct general ledger reconciliations and ensure alignment with operational records
• Support the development, improvement, and enforcement of reconciliation controls
• Supervise reconciliation activities and support junior team members when required
• Maintain accurate documentation for transactions, settlements, and reversals
• Post daily financial transactions and support month end closing and reporting
• Prepare reconciliation and exception reports for management review
• Perform other duties assigned in line with the role

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Proven reconciliation experience within a fintech or financial institution
• Strong understanding of transaction processing, settlements, and financial controls
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and numerical skills
• Good documentation and reporting skills
• High level of integrity, accountability, and ability to meet strict deadlines
