Job Description

TA Connect is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to provide operational leadership and drive organizational effectiveness across its programs in Nigeria. The COO will oversee core operational functions, ensure compliance with donor and regulatory requirements, and support institutional growth by strengthening systems, processes, and team performance. This role is ideal for a senior leader with strong experience in NGO or donor funded environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall operational leadership and strategic oversight for TA Connect
• Oversee finance, programs, MERL, sub awards, and business development functions
• Ensure compliance with donor regulations and Nigerian regulatory requirements
• Strengthen internal systems, policies, and operational processes
• Support institutional growth and organizational sustainability
• Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams across departments
• Support senior leadership in strategic planning and execution
• Represent the organization with donors, partners, and key stakeholders
• Ensure effective risk management and operational efficiency
• Facilitate coordination across programs and support quality delivery

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Health, Finance, or related field
• Minimum of 12 years progressive leadership experience
• At least 5 years in senior management roles within NGOs, donor-funded programs, or international development organizations
• Strong knowledge of donor regulations (USAID/DoS, Gates Foundation, FCDO, etc.)
• Solid understanding of the Nigerian regulatory environment
• Proven expertise in organizational leadership across finance, programs, MERL, sub awards, and business development
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and drive institutional growth
• Fluency in English and Hausa (written and oral); additional local languages are an advantage
• Willingness to travel across Nigeria as required
