Job Description

KlevaHR is seeking a highly experienced Head of Internal Audit and Compliance to lead and direct a comprehensive internal audit programme that ensures the effectiveness, reliability, and integrity of internal control systems. The role focuses on safeguarding financial, operational, and information technology processes while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies. This is a senior leadership role suited for a strategic professional with strong governance, risk, and compliance expertise.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive internal audit and compliance framework.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal control systems across financial, operational, and IT functions.
• Plan and execute risk based internal audit programmes and annual audit plans.
• Identify control gaps, risks, and compliance issues, and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and best practices.
• Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and track remediation actions.
• Provide independent assurance to senior management and the Board on governance and risk management.
• Oversee audits of information technology systems and data integrity controls.
• Prepare audit reports and present findings to management and relevant committees.
• Promote a strong culture of ethics, compliance, and accountability across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience in internal audit, risk management, or compliance roles.
• Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk assessment, and audit methodologies.
• Experience auditing financial, operational, and IT systems.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and problem solving skills.
• Strong communication and report writing abilities.
• High level of integrity, independence, and attention to detail.
• Professional audit or compliance certifications are an added advantage.
