Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Nutrition Consultant role based in Lagos. The Nutrition Consultant will assess clients’ nutritional needs, review medical and lifestyle histories, and develop individualized meal plans and recommendations aligned with current evidence and guidelines. The role involves providing one-on-one nutritional counseling, conducting group education sessions, and supporting clients in behavior change and goal setting. The consultant will collaborate with other health professionals, document client progress, and adjust plans based on outcomes and feedback. Additional responsibilities include contributing to nutrition education materials, staying current with nutrition research, and supporting wellness programs or workshops as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Nutrition and Dietetics, with the ability to interpret dietary guidelines and apply them to diverse populations.
- Proficiency in Nutritional Counseling and Consulting, including client assessment, goal setting, and ongoing support.
- Experience in Nutrition Education, such as developing and delivering workshops, presentations, or written materials.
- Ability to translate complex nutrition science into clear, practical guidance for clients with varying levels of health literacy.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a closely related field; relevant certifications or licensure are an advantage.
- Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills, with a non-judgmental and inclusive approach to client care.
- Organizational and documentation skills, including maintaining accurate records and following established protocols.
- Familiarity with local dietary patterns and public health nutrition issues in Lagos or similar urban settings is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and adapt in a dynamic, client-focused environment.
