Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting inventory accounting processes, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
The successful candidate must have prior experience working within a product-based business environment, possess strong financial reporting skills, and demonstrate proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, journals, and ledgers.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Process vendor payments and customer receipts promptly and accurately.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory-related transactions and ensure accurate inventory valuation.
- Track stock movements and collaborate with warehouse and operations teams on inventory controls.
- Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis reports.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Support internal and external audit activities by providing required documentation and schedules.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for cost optimization and process improvement.
- Prepare and submit periodic management reports.
- Ensure proper filing and documentation of financial records.
Requirements Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Previous experience working in a company involved in the sale, distribution, manufacturing, wholesale, or retail of products/goods is mandatory.
- Experience handling inventory accounting and stock reconciliation is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Hands-on experience using Accounting ERP systems.
- Understanding of inventory management and cost accounting principles.
- Knowledge of applicable tax and regulatory requirements.
