Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale Data Center Modernization and Migration programs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex infrastructure transformation initiatives, including data center consolidation, cloud migration, and application/workload transitions, with strong governance, stakeholder management, and delivery excellence.

This role requires deep expertise in program delivery, risk management, and cross-functional coordination across infrastructure, applications, security, and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program & Project Leadership

• Lead end-to-end delivery of data center modernization and migration programs
• Manage multiple concurrent projects with high complexity and business impact
• Define project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource plans
• Ensure alignment with organizational strategy and transformation goals

2. Data Center Modernization Initiatives

• Drive initiatives such as:
• Data center consolidation and decommissioning
• Infrastructure upgrades (compute, storage, network)
• Virtualization and hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) adoption
• Hybrid and cloud-ready environments
• Collaborate with architecture teams to execute modernization roadmaps

3. Migration Delivery Management

• Lead planning and execution of data center and cloud migrations, including:
• Lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and re-architecting strategies
• Oversee application, infrastructure, and database migrations
• Ensure minimal downtime and zero data loss through effective cutover planning
• Manage migration tools and vendors (e.g., Azure Migrate, VMware HCX, AWS Migration Hub)

4. Stakeholder & Client Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders and executives
• Conduct steering committee meetings and provide regular project updates
• Manage expectations, resolve escalations, and ensure stakeholder alignment
• Coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, and partners

5. Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Establish strong governance frameworks and reporting structures
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across project lifecycle
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain project documentation, RAID logs, and audit readiness

6. Financial & Resource Management

• Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost optimization initiatives
• Track financial performance and ensure projects are delivered within budget
• Allocate and optimize resources across multiple projects
• Manage contracts, vendors, and third-party service providers

7. Delivery Excellence & Quality Assurance

• Ensure adherence to project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
• Implement best practices for testing, validation, and post-migration support
• Conduct lessons learned sessions and continuous improvement initiatives
• Drive high-quality deliverables and customer satisfaction

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field

Experience

• 15+ years of experience in IT project/program management
• Proven track record in:
• Data center transformation and modernization
• Large-scale infrastructure and cloud migration projects
• Managing cross-functional and global teams
• Experience delivering programs in enterprise or consulting environments

Core Skills

• Strong knowledge of:
• Data center infrastructure (compute, storage, networking)
• Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Expertise in program governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement
• Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Jira, ServiceNow, etc.)

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and executive presentation skills
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure
• Ability to manage ambiguity and complex environments

Preferred Certifications

• PMP / PRINCE2 Certification
• Agile certifications (Scrum Master, SAFe)
• ITIL Certification
• Cloud certifications (Azure/AWS/GCP – preferred)
