Under the direction of the Director of Care or designate, the Health Care Aide provides personal care and assists with the emotional, physical, and social well-being of residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, skin and nail care
- Report behavior changes, skin breakdowns, constipation, or adverse conditions
- Â Assist with transfers and mobility using proper body mechanics and mechanical aids
- Perform nursing procedures: suppositories, enemas, specimen collection, intake/output recording, non-sterile dressings
- Document changes in residents’ condition and report to RN/LPN
- Transport residents to dining areas and activity programs
- Assist with meal service, feeding, tray collection, monitoring intake/output
- Make beds; sanitize basins, bedpans, and urinals; manage resident/unit supplies
- Report safety hazards or equipment issues
- Â Complete daily POC assessments
- Perform clerical tasks: typing, phone handling, appointments, ordering supplies
- Â Maintain good standing with the BC Care Aide Registry
- Â Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Â Grade 10 education + graduation from a recognized Health Care Aide/Nursing Assistant program
- Registered and in good standing with the BC Care Aide Registry
- Â Clear Criminal Record Check
- Completion of 8 High-Risk Violence Prevention modules
- Â Current Food Safe certificate
- Â Current First Aid & CPR certification

- Â Strong verbal and written communication
- Able to organize workload effectively
- Able to work well with others
Compensation:
- $28.31 – $29.07/hour (max: $29.83)
- Â Placement based on equity, experience, and qualifications.
