Role’s Summary:

The Health Specialist supports the development and implementation of health programmes, managing, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting progress within the country programme.

Responsibilities:

•  Support programme development and planning
• Manage programme implementation and monitoring
• Provide technical and operational support
• Build partnerships and networks
• Foster innovation and knowledge management
• Build capacity of government and partners
• Support health emergency preparedness and response
• Collaborate with other sectors and stakeholders
• Develop and finalize programme documents
• Support resource mobilization efforts
• Monitor and evaluate programme progress
• Provide technical guidance on health issues
• Support health policy development and implementation
• Collaborate with government counterparts and partners
• Identify and address health gaps and challenges
• Develop strategies for improving health outcomes
• Support health systems strengthening
• Foster community engagement and participation
• Support health education and promotion activities
• Collaborate with other UNICEF sectors
• Document best practices and lessons learned
• Support emergency health response

Skills:

•  Strong knowledge of public health and nutrition issues
• Experience in programme management and implementation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working with government and partners
• Knowledge of health systems and policies
• Fluency in English; local language is an asset
• Strong report writing and documentation skills

Education:

•  Advanced degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Pediatric Health, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in public health or related field
